Looking a “drift horse” in the mouth…

What is it, I wonder, that connects so many artists so closely to nature? Or maybe it’s that those who love nature are artistic? Possibly it’s got something to do with being able to see the beauty in things, potential beyond what meets the eye…
Anyway, a work friend sent me pictures of some of Heather Jansch’s work, and they stole my breath! I felt compelled to share. From a somewhat difficult academic beginning, she wound up at the right place at the right time and excelled at Walthamstow College, moving on to the famous Goldsmiths College in London where her luck took a downward turn again. Still, “by virtue of fate, the generosity of others, luck and determination,” Heather was able to achieve her dream. While doing commissioned work, she sought to find her “voice,” a way to combine the two passions of her youth - art and horses.
I have to say, I believe she certainly found a wonderful way to do just that. This is recycled art to be envied, created right from nature!
